What Does It Take To Get Into The (DJ) Business?

Ah! The excitement of becoming a "star", playing for the masses...

First of all, get OFF of being "equipment" oriented...That's the wrong direction to start...The correct "tree" to start barking up to is "Technique & Education" Do you think a doctor asks, "I want to be a physician...Where do a get a nice pair of forceps?" No...He begins by graduating High School and then looking for the best colleges.

The first thing you should do is educate yourself about technique and the industry; Go to www.adja.org to get started. Become a member of an approved DJ Association...Find an established DJ / Entertainer to allow you to train with him. You will likely not get paid, but the education will be FREE. When it is felt you are ready, you will be given opportunities to perform. You will know at that point whether you wish to pursue the vocation further, plus HOW to do so.

I invite you (and anyone interested in becoming a professional DJ) to attend a FREE meeting at our next ADJA of Tampa Bay "Get-Together" on July 21st.
